The transportation sector is evolving — and quickly. Populations are growing, which means the demand for new and improved infrastructure is growing too.
Australia has already invested $110B in developing our transport infrastructure, which will ensure communities have access to the methods of movement they need in our ever-growing world.
Smart, reliable transport is crucial to our future. And building it right is even more crucial. With location data from Nearmap, you can be sure you’re building right and capturing the fine details.
Here’s a glimpse at the transport networks of tomorrow, underway across the country and captured by Nearmap:

Aug 2021 | Badgery's Creek, NSW

Paving the way for new runways and taxiways at the site of Sydney’s Badgery’s Creek Airport, set to open in 2026 with a stage one operating capacity of 10 million passengers per year.

Jul 2021 | Berwick, VIC

Expansion of the Monash Freeway in Victoria, adding 30km of extra traffic lanes to ease delay and congestion.

Aug 2021 | Waterloo, NSW

Work continues on the construction of a new train station in the Sydney suburb of Waterloo — part of the massive new Metro network across the city which aims to handle 40,000 passengers per hour.

2019 - 2020 | Brisbane Airport, QLD

Work recently wrapped up adding an entire new runway to Brisbane Airport. One of the largest aviation projects in Australian history, allowing for more than 100 aircraft movements per hour, on par with the likes of Singapore and Hong Kong.
