Nearmap patented camera systems efficiently map the real world in incredibly high detail. These aerial photographs are updated regularly, up to 3x per year. Through regular surveys, Nearmap covers 87% of the U.S. population, with over 425,000 unique square miles per year. Most importantly, the imagery is detailed — consistently sub-3” ground sampling distance per pixel — offering top-of-the-line clarity and precision.
To ensure that you’re getting the best imagery, the Nearmap team evaluates various factors before takeoff: weather tracking, pilot communications, prioritization of survey areas, shipping and receiving of capture data, data management, quality control, and support of our proprietary camera systems.
Flights happen when conditions are optimal. Surveys are not conducted in the presence of clouds, significant smoke, fog, snow, or strong shadows. This ensures that you get precise ground truth.
Nearmap proactively captures over 1.7 million square kilometers of imagery across four countries. By processing 1M+ images daily, Nearmap users always work with the most current data.
Truth is found in the details. So having the sharpest imagery is vital to our purpose of being the source of truth for global professionals. Patented, airplane-mounted camera systems allow us to cover wide land areas in a short amount of time — without compromising on the high resolution that you depend on.
Nearmap bridges the gap between image capture and delivery, using proprietary imaging technology and a geospatial content team to collect, process, and publish location intelligence. This streamlines the processing pipeline to optimize data accuracy, speed, and recency — so the imagery is in your hands and ready to use within a few weeks of capture via MapBrowser, APIs, or your GIS and CAD systems.
High-resolution captures provide the details needed for artificial intelligence and machine learning to extract valuable information from aerial data sources, including Vertical, Oblique, Panorama, 3D, and Near-Infrared imagery. By accessing different vintages, you can perform advanced image analysis and gather more insights for your areas of interest.
Exploring an area of interest with location intelligence enables you to surface any detail. Rotate, tilt, and change your viewing perspective to collect information from every angle and power your team with relevant data full of insights that spark initiative.
